Breakfast at Twilight
Generali Holding AG
Since the beginning of time plants have not only touched people's lives but they have been completely entangled in the evolution of humanity. The plant kingdom is abundant and varied yet in the industrialised west, plants have been overlooked and instrumentalised. This work looks at the resilience of the plant world having been commodified, cultivated and colonialised – a work attempting to reconsider our relationship with the natural world as the climate crisis accelerates at an unprecedented rate. Depictions of diverse and abstracted specimens of mosses, ferns, grasses, reeds and palms are back-painted on glass panels on the first floor of the Generali building.
